Job Description

The Diploma Engineer disciplines include Electrical, Mechanical and Safety, with the Safety discipline having additional Industrial Safety qualification requirements. The prescribed minimum percentage is generally 65% for General/EWS/OBC(NCL) and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD.

Important: For the Diploma Engineer Grade E0 posts, candidates possessing professional higher qualifications such as B.E., B.Tech, MBA, CA, CS, CMA, MCA or Ph.D. are not eligible, subject to the notification\'s detailed provisions.

Selection Process

The selection process is:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Group Discussion (GD)
  3. Group Task (GT)
  4. Personal Interview (PI)

The CBT has 100 questions: 50 General Aptitude questions and 50 Domain Knowledge questions. There is 0.25 negative marking for every incorrect answer.

The final composite score carries:

  • CBT – 85%
  • GD & GT – 5%
  • Personal Interview – 10%

Salary

IOCL lists the following pay scales:
